Susan Olsen, TV's Cindy Brady, to appear on Y&R

It's the story of a Genoa City lady... You may find yourself singing a very familiar TV tune when September rolls around. Susan Olsen, forever known to television viewers as Cindy Brady, will be making an appearance on The Young and the Restless later this summer.

September will kick off with a Very Brady Genoa City edition of The Young and the Restless. Susan Olsen, universally known as Cindy Brady from the 1970s sitcom, The Brady Bunch, will make a special guest-starring appearance on Y&R, according to a report by Entertainment Weekly.

Olsen will play the role of Liza Morton, a pre-school owner. In Olsen's scene, Reed Hellstrom and Delia Abbott head off to their first day of pre-school.

It's been more than a decade since Olsen has appeared in a scripted television series. From 1969 to 1977, Olsen was known as the youngest Brady, the talked-with-a-lisp Cindy. Olsen reprised that role in 1990's The Bradys, an attempt to revive the Brady franchise in the form of a drama series. She also appeared in a cameo role in the motion picture, The Brady Bunch Movie.

Olsen is not the first Brady Bunch kid to appear in daytime. Ten years ago this month, Maureen McCormick (Marcia Brady) originated the role of Rebecca Hotchkiss on NBC's Passions. Eve Plumb (Jan Brady) has played bit roles on All My Children and Days of our Lives. Christopher Knight (Peter Brady) appeared as Leigh Hobson on Another World in the early 1980s. Barry Williams (Greg Brady) made a short-term appearance on General Hospital as Hannibal. The only former Brady kid not to appear on a soap is Mike Lookinland (Bobby Brady).

Olsen will tape her Y&R scenes on July 30. Those scenes are expected to air on September 1.
