The daytime community is sending love and positive thoughts to Walt Willey (Jackson Montgomery, All My Children), who shares that he is undergoing surgery this week.

Fans of All My Children star Walt Willey, who played Pine Valley attorney Jackson Montgomery from 1987 until the soap's cancellation in 2011, are sending the actor love and support in response to the news that he is scheduled for surgery on Wednesday.

Willey took to Twitter to alert fans about his procedure, and though he didn't get into detail about why he is heading under the knife, he asked his followers to please keep him in their thoughts as he "meets this challenge."

"I'm going in for some surgery tomorrow and would appreciate it if you could find it in your hearts to say a prayer, think a good thought, light a candle, or however you may wish to send good vibes my way," he wrote, adding for good measure: "No animal sacrifices, please!"

Fans immediately began sharing messages of support with Willey, as did many of the actor's daytime colleagues.

"Thinking of you and sending prayers Walt," shared Alicia Minshew (Kendall Hart), while Eric Martsolf (Brady Black, Days of our Lives) shared, "Good thoughts my friend." Added Kassie DePaiva (Blair Cramer, One Life to Live; ex-Eve Donovan, DAYS), "Here's to a speedy recovery. God be with you."

News of Willey's surgery comes hot on the heels of the news that his former AMC co-star, Vincent Irizarry (David Hayward), had emergency head surgery following injuries sustained when he interfered in a domestic violence situation. To read more about that, click here.

Willey starred on AMC from 1987 to 2011, often on the arm of Susan Lucci's Erica Kane. His other credits include Ryan's Hope, where he starred as Joe Novak from 1986 to 1987; Thurston; Everyday Lies; Gunslingers; and Tainted Dreams.
